Regular dealer paint protection is usually nothing but a paint sealant(plastic wax) that will last 12 months at best.
Be wary of lifetime warranties offered as no coating will last forever.
The latest technology in painted surface protection is a SIO2 (Silica Dioxide) Quartz coating. Similar to a layer of glass on top of your paint work. It increases marring resistance, has self cleaning abilities and super hydrophobic properties(water repellant). Along with beautiful blinding gloss levels creating a show car out of your everyday driver.
No self respecting detailer will ever apply a coating to a vehicle without perfecting the paint before hand. This involves thorough deep clean and decontamination of surface impurities bonded to the paint work firstly.
Followed by complete paint correction and polishing to achieve the highest level of gloss possible. Only then do we apply the glass coating to lock in and permanently protect the beautiful finish.

A Ceramic coating is the best protection available besides paint protection film, which is extremely expensive 9 around $8k for a full car. Waxes will last up to 3 months, sealants (plastic waxes) last up to 12 months. An expertly applied premium coating will last upwards of 5 years. A Deep Gloss in the paint will be obvious to see the layer of coating on top.
